Carl & Dorothy Bennett Cancer Center: Oncology Specialists

We believe every patient deserves thoughtful, compassionate care backed by an extraordinary team of professionals - and that's what you can expect

World-Class Expertise, Closer to Home

Stamford Health offers an evidence-based, multidisciplinary approach to your cancer care. You can count on us to do everything we can to balance your physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. We offer patients person-centered care with access to world-class physicians, skilled nurses, and the latest in treatment and services.

The Bennett Cancer Center has recently broadened our relationship with Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center, an NCI-designated cancer center recognized as the #1 “Best Hospital” for cancer care in New England by U.S. News & World Report, to provide even more beneficial services to our patients. This expanded relationship offers patients enhanced medical and radiation oncology care from world-class teams at both the Bennett Cancer Center and Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center. This combined team of experts is committed to you and providing the best care possible for your specific cancer type – from the most common to rarest forms of cancer.

One unique benefit is that patients now have the opportunity for their specific disease to be discussed at virtual tumor board review meetings, attended by both Bennett Cancer Center clinicians and nationally renowned Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center oncology specialists. These physicians work in collaboration to provide you with the most effective treatment plan for you – and will be with you every step of the way.

Cancer Services

When it comes to cancer, we believe firmly in education. We hold various events throughout the year to keep the community up-to-date on our latest efforts. But more importantly, we take your health and all possibilities of cancer prevention seriously. That's why we have an ongoing relationship with the American Cancer Society and the Fairfield County community.

We run thorough screening tests for the following cancers

Support Resources

Nurse navigators are an important element of the Stamford Health cancer program. Navigators work as part of a multidisciplinary oncology team to help patients access care and provide individualized support throughout their cancer treatment and survivorship. They can help answer questions, coordinate appointments and services, and offer referrals to additional resources if necessary (such as fertility preservation). Additionally, our navigators work to educate the community about the importance of cancer prevention and screenings.

Research & Clinical Trials

Ground-breaking immunotherapy

Immunotherapy is An FDA-approved approach that uses the patient's immune system to attack cancer. Immunotherapy offers patients an alternative to more traditional treatments like chemotherapy. We've participated in clinical trials using immunotherapies and now use it as a standard treatment for our patients. We have multiple open trials available for melanoma, as well as lung and breast cancers, with new opportunities becoming available regularly. We have been amazed by some of our patient's clinical responses to immunotherapy and look forward to treating more patients with this revolutionary treatment.

Cancer research and clinical trials

Clinical trials offer those with cancer a hope for today and a commitment to exploring innovative therapies for tomorrow. Stamford Health’s Bennett Cancer Center’s oncologists often research the latest clinical trials to provide a range of offerings for those undergoing initial cancer treatments, and for those whose cancer is recurring or advanced in stage.
