Putting your healing first since 1993
Our Center was the first specialty wound care treatment center established in Connecticut. Today, we operate with two pressurized hyperbaric chambers that provide pure oxygen therapy for better healing, wound vacs that draw out fluid from the wound and increase blood flow to the area, wound debridement, specialty biologics, and skin grafting. The causes of wounds are complex and our group represents expertise in all of the major areas necessary to handle varied circumstances and challenges. This collaborative approach to your care brings about superior healing results.
Our center is staffed with a unique team of trained physicians that specialize in vascular care, infectious disease, podiatry, and surgical procedures. Along with our experienced nursing staff and hyperbaric technicians, they use advanced therapeutic wound healing technologies and techniques.
If you have a wound that has not healed in 30 days (commonly experienced in people with diabetes), a surgical wound that has become infected, or a sore with increasing pain, redness or swelling, foul odor, or a change in color, you may be referred to Stamford Health’s Wound Care and Hyberbaric Center by a physician or you may make an appointment directly. At our center, you can expect to:
- Work with a Wound Care physician to complete a history and physical
- Order diagnostic tests if indicated
- Determine a plan of care following established clinical practice guidelines for your wounds.
- Receive treatment focused on the causes, coexisting conditions that affect wound healing, and topical wound management.
- Have a complete medical record in the form of progress reports delivered to both you and your primary care or referring physician
