If you're a patient:

The majority of the time, you'll need to provide a current photo ID and insurance card. For the purpose of accuracy and, above all your safety, you may be asked to present these several times throughout the check-in and registration process. If your insurance has recently changed, we'll need to update our records as well. Thank you in advance for your patience and for keeping your updated documents on-hand.

If you're a visitor:

When you arrive at the Stamford Hospital/Bennett Medical Center Campus, you'll be given a badge at the front desk, which will include your name and photograph, as well as the time and date you arrived. To ensure a timely process, please be prepared with a valid photo ID. Again, this is for the safety and security of everyone traveling through the hospital.

For a scheduled procedure or surgery

Check in at the front desk in the main concourse. Please have a valid photo ID and recent insurance card ready. Keep these documents out and then follow signs to Admitting where a staff member will assist you. You'll then take the elevator behind Admitting to the floor 1. You'll be greeted by the receptionist who will prepare your paperwork for your nurse right before your surgery or procedure.

For a procedure in the cardiac catherization lab

Take the elevator to floor 2 after checking in at Admitting. The same steps will apply.

For an appointment or treatment at Bennett Cancer Center
Check in at the main entrance of the Bennett Cancer Center where the staff will further assist you.

For the emergency department and pediatric emergency department

If coming by car, follow signs to the emergency department and use our valet parking service. All patients who come in to the emergency department are seen by an experienced greeter nurse who determines to which treatment zone they will go.
