STAMFORD, CT – August 6, 2026 – Today, Stamford Health announced the opening of its newly transformed Breast Center, made possible by a landmark $10 million philanthropic gift from the Odyssey Group Foundation. The completed project represents the final milestone in Stamford Health’s Campaign for Women and Babies, and significantly expands access to comprehensive, expert and person-centered breast care for patients and families across Lower Fairfield County.

Located on the first floor of Stamford Health’s Tully Health Center, the 13,000-square-foot, reimagined Breast Center features a modern, beautifully designed space that brings together advanced imaging, diagnostics and clinical expertise in a single, highly coordinated environment. The new center was thoughtfully designed to improve patient flow, increase privacy and enhance comfort while enabling care teams to collaborate more seamlessly across specialties.

Odyssey Group’s gift supported the relocation and total transformation of the Breast Center, ensuring the continued use of state-of-the-art technology, the ability to attract and retain top clinical talent and the capacity to serve a growing number of patients. In fiscal year 2025 alone, Stamford Health performed more than 33,000 mammograms, diagnosed over 250 new cancers and performed over 250 breast surgeries—demands that continue to rise.

The new Breast Center reinforces Stamford Health’s standing as a national leader in breast care. The center is accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), administered by the American College of Surgeons, and is also designated a Designated Comprehensive Breast Imaging Center by the American College of Radiology. Stamford Health was the first site in the nation to receive NAPBC accreditation in 2009 and has been continuously reaccredited, most recently in 2025.

Staffed by fellowship-trained surgeons and board-certified radiologists, the Odyssey Group Breast Center offers a full continuum of services, including mammography, MRI, ultrasound, stereotactic biopsy, MRI biopsy, ultrasound biopsy, high-risk assessment, navigation, surgery and reconstruction. The center is led by Dr. Mia Kazanjian, Director of Women’s Imaging.
