Stamford Hospital is Recognized by U.S. News & World Report

STAMFORD, CT / July 30, 2020 – U.S. News & World Report (USNWR), an authority on hospital rankings, has recognized Stamford Hospital as High Performing for 2020-2021. Stamford is one of 17 hospitals in Connecticut to receive recognition for an area of care. Of over 4,500 hospitals evaluated nationally, approximately one third earned some form of recognition.

“It is an honor for Stamford Hospital to be recognized by U.S. News & World Report,” said Kathleen Silard, President and Chief Executive Officer of Stamford Health. “We are proud to earn this distinction. It reflects our commitment to caring for patients at the highest level.”

Among the measures used by USNWR this year, Stamford’s High Performing recognition in the area of heart failure care was driven by favorable outcomes, technologies and specialized personnel among other factors.

“Stamford Health’s Heart & Vascular Institute aims to deliver exceptional heart and vascular care” said David Hsi, MD, Chief, Cardiology and Co-Director of the Heart & Vascular Institute. “We offer comprehensive services, in convenient locations with a collaborative heart team approach to support patients from diagnosis through recovery. Consistently being recognized for our superior clinical outcomes and exceptional patient experiences is humbling and validates our vision to be our communities’ most trusted partner for cardiovascular care.”

Stamford Health’s Heart & Vascular Institute is the only comprehensive heart and vascular program in Lower Fairfield County - offering cardiology and surgical services including general cardiology, non-invasive testing, cardiac rehabilitation, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, structural heart disease and valve care, open heart surgery and vascular surgery. Stamford Health has received numerous recognitions from the American Heart Association and uses state-of-the-art technology such as cardiac MRI imaging and multi-detector CT coronary angiography, all in a single care environment.
