Mitchel D. Krieger, MD
About Me
Dr. Mitchel Krieger is a dual board-certified plastic surgeon with more than 30 years of clinical experience. In addition to his clinical practice, he also serves as the chief medical information officer for Stamford Health. Dr. Krieger is a published author and experienced health care professional with a background in both military and civilian health care. His professional career has taken him to many countries, providing expertise in the United States, Central America, the Middle East, Europe, and the Far East. He most recently served on the plastic surgery faculty at the Cleveland Clinic and helped lead the development of its new private hospital in London, England.
Dr. Krieger provides compassionate and personalized care to his patients. Patients are often confronted with a range of options or choices. He believes all patients must be empowered to make thoughtful decisions, informed with the latest information, and guided by his many years of professional experience.
His clinical interests include cosmetic and reconstructive surgery for patients following massive weight loss. His book, "Bariatric Plastic Surgery: A Guide to Cosmetic Surgery After Weight Loss" was published in 2008 and serves as a valuable resource for patients interested in plastic surgery after weight loss. He has extensive experience helping women restore their body confidence following childbirth. He performs complex body lift surgery, as well as liposuction, tummy tucks, breast rejuvenation, and skin cancer surgery. He was also an investigator in some of the original studies assessing silicone breast implants and is experienced in the management of patients with breast implant-related illness.
Dr. Krieger is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a board-certified Specialist in Clinical Informatics. He also holds a Master of Management in Clinical Informatics Degree from Duke University.
