About Me

Dr. Meaghan L. Barr is a hand and upper‑extremity surgeon dedicated to restoring function and improving quality of life for adults and children with injuries and/or disorders of the hand, wrist, and forearm. Her practice combines advanced surgical skill with a personalized, evidence‑based approach. She is passionate about helping patients return to work, sports, and everyday life faster and with less pain. She enjoys providing care to the residents of Stamford, Westport, and the greater Southern Connecticut area, where she lives.

Dr. Barr provides comprehensive care for the upper extremity. She specializes in the treatment of complex fractures, traumatic hand injuries, wrist and finger pain, arthritis, compressive neuropathies including carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel syndrome, tendon and ligament injuries, and peripheral nerve injuries. She is fellowship‑trained in microvascular techniques for digit and hand replantation, nerve transfers, and soft‑tissue coverage.

Dr. Barr has a strong academic track record, with peer-reviewed publications focused on clinical outcomes. Particular areas of interest include management of complex trauma and nerve injuries. Her research experience guides the protocols she uses in the clinic and in the OR.
