The compassionate and knowledgeable healthcare professionals of Stamford Hospital’s Infusion Center provide a warm and inviting place to receive intravenous therapies. We offer intravenous antibiotic therapy, pheresis therapy, immunologic therapy, transfusions of blood products, injections, hydration, PICC/midline insertions, care/maintenance, miscellaneous intravenous therapies, and other therapies requiring multiple administrations by ambulatory pump.
Our experienced registered nurses are vascular access board certified and are specially trained to make line insertion as quick and painless as possible. We place both PICC (peripherally inserted central catheters) and midlines using ultrasound guidance and a tip locator system to guide optimal placement. We also use ultrasound-guided peripheral IV insertions when needed.
Since infusion therapy can sometimes take several hours, our facility is designed for optimal patient comfort. We offer meals and beverages to those who must spend multiple hours in treatment. Our private treatment rooms offer soft and comfortable recliners along with personal televisions for each infusion therapy patient. Free wireless internet access is also available.
The Infusion Center is open seven days per week, 365 days per year. It is located on the second floor of the Warner Building, with easy access to valet parking at the main hospital entrance.
