Biography

Dr. Taddonio is one of the most respected orthopedic spinal surgeons in the Tri-State area. He’s been in practice since 1976, and has provided surgical care for more than 6,000 patients with a broad range of spinal conditions.

From minimally invasive techniques to the most complex reconstructive surgeries, Dr. Taddonio brings unparalleled experience and expertise. He’s motivated by a desire to improve the quality of life for his patients and their families. He takes the time to listen and to talk through problems and solutions. He is personally involved, 100% of the time, with office consultations and surgical treatment.

Dr. Taddonio is on the forefront of advancements in scoliosis treatment in children and adults. He was one of forty spinal surgeons and back specialists in the country to refine ScoliScore, a groundbreaking genetic test designed to predict the risk of progression of scoliosis. ScoliScore analyzes the DNA of patients who are diagnosed with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis, the most common type of scoliosis.

He introduced spinal navigation to the North East and to Stamford Hospital, the mid 1990s. Safety, which is of paramount importance for patients undergoing spinal surgery, is enhanced using this technique. Robotic surgery is on his horizon.

His expertise is sought out worldwide. Dr. Taddonio has given more than 100 academic presentations around the world and has published dozens of journal articles and abstracts.He has been involved in orthopedic resident education during his entire career. He founded Scoliosis and Spinal Surgery, PC in 1981.
