Stamford Health Expands Services in Norwalk
Including Primary & Specialty Care, and a New Rehab Location with Hospital for Special Surgery
STAMFORD, CT, August 9, 2023 – Today, Stamford Health and Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) announced the opening of HSS Sports Rehab – Norwalk, a new location offering sports rehabilitation and physical therapy services. The facility, located at 637 West Avenue in Norwalk, Connecticut, is already home to several programs and services through Stamford Health Medical Group.
The 17,470-square-foot, three-floor facility, featuring twenty-three exam rooms and eight physician offices, is Stamford Health’s newest location in Norwalk. The location opened in April of 2022 with primary care, rheumatology, gynecology, and lab services. Shortly thereafter, cardiology, endocrinology, and obstetrics were added. Providers for all services are accepting new patients.
HSS Sports Rehab – Norwalk is the ninth location offering physical therapy and sports rehabilitation services through the Stamford Health and HSS collaboration, including four locations in Stamford and four additional locations in Greenwich, Westport, New Canaan, and Wilton. The team of skilled therapists at HSS Sports Rehab – Norwalk is experienced in working with patients of all ages and all levels of activity, from weekend warriors to elite athletes, and those who are looking to stay active. Many patients qualify for direct access to outpatient physical therapy services without a physician referral.
“The expansion of 637 West Avenue is part of a larger initiative to build upon our existing programs and services while continuing to provide expert, compassionate care to the communities we serve,” stated Liz Longmore, Chief Operating Officer. “By offering an array of additional services and specialties in Norwalk, we are able to expand access to care for patients and their families, closer to home.”
