Dr. Scott Chudnoff Named Chair, Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology

After an extensive national search, Stamford Health announced today that Scott Chudnoff, MD, MSc, has been named Chair of the Hugh K. Miller, MD, Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology (OBGYN). As Chair, Dr. Chudnoff will be responsible for the overall direction of obstetrics, gynecologic oncology, maternal/fetal medicine and reproductive endocrinology at Stamford Hospital, as well as advancing the Women’s Health programs at the Hospital and Tully Health Center. Board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Chudnoff specializes in women’s health, gynecology, minimally invasive surgery, medical technology and medical education, and is certified as a sexuality counselor by the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT).

Prior to joining Stamford Health, Dr. Chudnoff was Associate Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Women’s Health, Associate Residency Director at Einstein/Montefiore and the Director of Gynecology at Montefiore.

A graduate of Yeshiva University in New York, Dr. Chudnoff received his medical degree from the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey. He completed his Masters of Science, Residencies in Obstetrics & Gynecology and Women’s Health and a Fellowship in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Dr. Chudnoff served as Assistant Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology in the Division of Minimally Invasive Surgery at Einstein/Montefiore Medical Center, and was named Director of Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecological Surgery. During his tenure at Einstein/Montefiore, he was Director of Education & Research, Moses Division, where he also completed a Masters in Clinical Research and Biostatistics.

Additionally, Dr. Chudnoff is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and an active member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists; American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists; Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics; American Society for Reproductive Medicine; and the Society of Reproductive Surgeons.

A member of the editorial board for the Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology (JMIG), he has published academic papers and research in peer-reviewed publications including Fertility and Sterility, Reproductive Sciences, Obstetrics and Gynecology, OBG Management, Journal of Lower Genital Tract Disease and Journal of Reproductive Medicine. Dr. Chudnoff speaks regularly at medical conferences and has also authored chapters for several academic textbooks.
