Stamford Health’s Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center received the Robert A. Warriner III, MD, Center of Excellence Award for meeting Center of Distinction quality standards set by Healogics, Inc., the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services.
“Our staff not only treats a patient’s wound, but work closely with them to enhance their quality of life,” said Joey C. Papa, MD, Medical Director of the Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center at Stamford Health. “We are extremely proud of the team’s consistent dedication and hard work to meet these demanding quality outcomes while providing a compassionate and patient-centered environment.”
To earn this distinction, the Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center achieved outstanding clinical outcomes for 12 consecutive months, including patient satisfaction rates higher than 92 percent and a healing rate of at least 91 percent in less than 30 median days, among other quality standards for a minimum of two years. Out of nearly 800 Wound Care Centers, 168 achieved Center of Distinction status and 110 were honored with this award for clinical excellence.
Stamford Health’s Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center offers specialized treatment to patients suffering from diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections or other wounds caused by injury, disease, a surgical incision, poor blood supply to a body area, poor nutrition or other factors, which have not healed within a reasonable amount of time.
