Stamford Hospital was recognized as being one of the top ranked hospitals in Fairfield County and among those recognized in Connecticut by U.S. News & World Report’s 2014-2015 Best Hospital Ranking for the second year in a row. The annual U.S. News Best Hospitals rankings recognize hospitals that excel in treating the most challenging patients.
“We are proud that our efforts to clearly communicate quality and safety results, including a number of initiatives implemented over the last few years, help ensure best outcomes through focused, patient-centered care,” said Rohit Bhalla, MD, Vice President and Chief Quality Officer at Stamford Hospital. “Our ability to achieve this ranking highlights our organization’s commitment to these efforts and also represents an opportunity to continue initiatives that further enhance these results.”
Stamford Hospital was one of only nine hospitals in Connecticut recognized this year. In addition, Stamford Hospital was acknowledged among the Best Regional Hospital programs in Western Connecticut and as a Best Metro Hospital program within the Fairfield/Bridgeport Metro area.
U.S. News publishes Best Hospitals to help guide patients who need a high level of care because they face a particularly difficult surgery, challenging condition or extra risk because of age or multiple health problems. Objective measures such as patient survival and safety data, adequacy of nurse staffing levels and other data largely determined the rankings in most specialties.
