Stamford Hospital Physicians Recognized as "Top Docs" by Connecticut Magazine

Connecticut Magazine has recognized 76 Stamford Hospital physicians in its annual list of Top Doctors.

“Stamford Hospital staff, administration, physicians and volunteers are extraordinarily proud of the Stamford Hospital-affiliated physicians that have been recognized by Connecticut Magazine – both for their expertise as well as their dedication to patient care,” said Sharon C. Kiely, MD, MPM, Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs and Chief Medical Officer, Stamford Hospital. “Today they are acknowledged by peers which is among the greatest of professional achievements. Every day as a member of one of the finest medical staff’s in the region, they practice patient centered medicine as a team together with nursing, ancillary staff and residents. And for that they have our deep gratitude.”

More than 5,000 questionnaires were sent to Connecticut doctors, asking them to recommend a doctor (other than themselves) to whom they would send a loved one for expert medical care. In this year’s survey, the focus was on seven specialties: bariatric surgery, nephrology, neurosurgery, pediatrics, plastic and reconstructive surgery, pulmonary medicine and thoracic surgery. The top vote-getters in those categories made the Top Docs listings, along with all those doctors in other specialties who finished at the top of our surveys from the years 2012-2014. The result is 825 doctors in 31 specialties, in all the result of more than 15,000 questionnaires sent out over a four-year period.
