Charles Littlejohn, MD, Chief, Division of Colorectal Surgery at Stamford Hospital has been elected President of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. Over the course of his career as a colorectal surgeon, Dr. Littlejohn has been an active member of the society and held numerous local and national leadership positions. His selection marks the Society’s first appointee from the State of Connecticut.
Dr. Littlejohn has been at Stamford Hospital since 1984. A graduate of Dartmouth College, he received his medical degree from Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth and completed his Fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery at UMDNJ – Rutgers (now Robert Wood Johnson Medical School). The American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons is an association of surgeons and other professionals worldwide who are dedicated to ensuring high-quality patient care by advancing the science for the prevention and management of all colorectal disorders through research and education.
