Stamford Hospital received two 2015 Women’s Choice Awards, recognizing it as one of America’s Best Hospitals for Heart Care and Obstetrics.

“On behalf of all our physicians, nurses and staff at Stamford Hospital, we are very proud to be bestowed with the Women’s Choice Awards for Heart Care and Obstetrics,” said Kathy Silard, RN, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Stamford Hospital. “Across the institution, our mission is to provide the highest level of care in a personalized and compassionate environment, and we are pleased to have these two programs recognized for their achievement.”

Stamford is one of only 353 hospitals in the United States to qualify for this evidence-based designation for heart care, signifying a commitment to meeting the highest industry standards. Stamford Hospital’s Heart & Vascular Institute offers the most comprehensive cardiac services in the region, including cardiac surgery, complex interventional cardiology, advanced arrhythmia procedures as well as cardiac disease risk education, assessment and prevention.

The America’s Best Hospitals for Heart Care list is determined by first identifying the top 25% of hospitals across the nation that offer a minimum number of cardiac and/or vascular services. Only hospitals that perform well clinically with regard to heart care measures reported to Medicare and also have a high Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems score are selected. The award criteria include patient satisfaction, clinical excellence and what women really want when it comes to treatment and a quality hospital experience.

In addition, Stamford Hospital has received the 2015 Women’s Choice Award® as an America’s Best Hospitals for Obstetrics for the second consecutive year. This evidence-based designation is the only award that identifies the country’s best healthcare institutions based on robust criteria that consider female patient satisfaction, clinical excellence and what women say they want from a hospital. The Women’s Choice Award identifies America’s Best Hospitals across the nation to help women make smart healthcare choices, and highlightsSta Stamford Hospital’s commitment to educating its communities.
