Coronavirus: When to Take Action

Stamford Health is committed to preventing the spread of infectious diseases and cares about your health. You may have heard about the coronavirus in the media. Novel coronavirus (COVID-19) is a virus that causes respiratory illness.
There have been no cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) at any Stamford Health facilities or in our community. If you are at all concerned about coronavirus, please consider the following guidance:
IF you have traveled from China, or been in contact with someone who is ill with coronavirus, in the past 14 days...
...AND have a fever or respiratory symptoms, please wear a mask and go immediately to the nearest emergency room for evaluation and treatment.
...BUT do not have any symptoms and are feeling well, please contact your local health department for further guidance and monitoring: Stamford Department of Health: 203.977.5385 or 203.977.4399; Connecticut Department of Health 860.509.7994 or 860.509.8000.
PLEASE NOTE: If you have traveled to China or were exposed to anyone sick with coronavirus infection, we urge you to remain at home in quarantine for 14 days, or as advised by the Department of Health.
