About Me

Tal Oren, MD, PhD is board-certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology and hematopathology. Although he prides himself on being able to diagnose a wide variety of conditions, he specializes in diagnosing and monitoring diseases that affect red and white blood cells.

Dr. Oren has practiced in the field of pathology since finishing his fellowship in 2010 After beginning his career in a reference laboratory providing hematopathology services, Dr. Oren joined Stamford Health – a move that enabled him to expand his clinical responsibilities to more general pathology services while still using his extensive expertise in hematopathology.

Dr. Oren has always had an interest in the study of diseases and conditions affecting blood cells and how blood cells develop. Before his medical training, he earned his PhD working with hematopoietic blood cells (stem cells). After his training, he chose to complete a fellowship in hematopathology to merge his basic science knowledge with more practical clinical expertise. He uses this synergy to provide cutting edge diagnostic services and specialized testing for patients with blood disorders.

Dr. Oren provides comprehensive support for physicians and is available for consultations, evaluations or second opinions. He works closely with hematologists and oncologists at Stamford Health to ensure that patients receive quality care and state of the art diagnostic services.
