Dr. Nissin Nahmias is a board-certified surgeon with years of experience performing endoscopic procedures and minimally invasive bariatric surgeries. After residency, Dr. Nahmias was trained in the techniques of bariatric surgery by two of the nation’s pioneers of academic bariatric surgery, Dr. James W. Maher and Dr. John M. Kellum, at the prestigious Virginia Commonwealth University, one of the country’s leading institutions in the development of the field of bariatric surgery.
Dr. Nahmias is a member of many professional physician organizations, including the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery where he serves on the Bariatric Surgery Training Committee and the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders where he serves on the Investigational Surgical and Endoscopic Procedures Committee.
