Christina Kim, MD

About Me

Dr. Kim was born and raised in Wisconsin. She completed medical school at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Afterwards, she completed her urologic surgical training at the University of Connecticut. Subsequently, she completed her pediatric urology fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh. After fellowship, she joined Connecticut Children’s Medical Center and served as the medical director of pediatric urology. She initiated many multi-disciplinary clinics and increased surgical volume. During her time there, she created a fellowship program in pediatric urology and worked on collaborative projects across the country looking at clinical outcomes of robotic surgery. Her greatest passion is performing advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery. She firmly believes in the benefits of faster recovery and desirable cosmesis with minimally invasive surgery. In 2005, Dr. Kim performed the first pediatric robotic surgery in the state of CT. She developed the robotic program at CT Children’s Hospital and performed >95% of the robotic cases there for over 12 years. In 2008, she was the first surgeon to perform a robotic vaginoplasty. In the past 14 years, she has performed hundreds of robotic cases. She performs a wide array of robotic cases (e.g. ureteral reimplantation, pyeloplasty, partial nephrectomy, bladder augmentation, and creation of catheterizable channels). Due to her expertise, she serves as faculty at both national and international robotic instructional courses. She is an Associate Professor of Urology at New York Medical College. Dr. Kim joined Pediatric Urology Associates (PUA) in 2016. This year, Stamford Hospital has formally partnered with PUA. Dr. Kim is the medical director for this partnership. Along with her associates, Dr. Lori Dyer and Dr. Miriam Harel, PUA is available every week to evaluate and treat the full spectrum of urologic conditions. Some common urologic issues include: evaluation for circumcision/circumcision revision, undescended testicles, hernias, hypospadias, meatal stenosis, varicocele, kidney stones, urinary reflux, kidney obstruction, neurogenic bladders, and incontinence. Our specialized medical care is combined with exceptional facilities for surgery and postoperative recovery. Dr. Kim is excited to provide state of the art pediatric urologic care to our patients in Stamford.
