The Center for Surgical Weight Loss (CSWL) provides all procedures including laparoscopic gastric bypass, gastric sleeve resections and the gastric band. As a comprehensive center, the CSWL engages the patient in all aspects of medical and physical wellness. It combines guided exercise programs within the Tully Health Center’s fitness facility, nutritional support from an experienced team of nutritionists and dieticians and ultimately from a variety of services provided by Stamford’s Integrative Medicine practices. Cardiovascular Surgery

The Heart & Vascular Institute offers a full spectrum of options for cardiac surgery, whether elective or immediate and life-saving. Our surgical team has outstanding clinical outcomes with a strong focus on each individual patient experience . Your surgeon will always be accessible, and you’ll be assigned a skilled cardiac Nurse Navigator to help coordinate your care and guide you through the process. Our cardiac surgery team is highly experienced in a full range of cardiac surgery techniques, including rare and high-risk cardiac surgical procedures. Our cardiac surgeries include coronary artery bypasses (CABG), valve repairs and replacements, and aortic aneurysm and dissection repairs.

Colon and rectal surgery focuses on the treatment of diseases and conditions affecting the intestinal tract, rectum, anus and peri-anal areas. Whenever possible, we strive for a minimally invasive surgical approach to treat colorectal cancer. This not only involves a smaller incision, but also can ultimately reduce postoperative pain and medical levels, as well as speed the return of normal bowel function. General Surgery

      Ophthalmology

      Our board-certified ophthalmologists share a singular mission: protect and preserve our patients’ eyesight. We’re actively involved in the medical and surgical eye healthcare of our entire hospital community, providing treatment and consultations for the Emergency Department, Tully Immediate Care Center, outpatient clinics, and other hospitalized patients.

      We offer state-of-the-art cataract eye surgery and retinal procedures. Our ophthalmologists perform most surgical procedures on an outpatient basis at Stamford Hospital’s main campus, the Tully Health Center, or the Wilton Ambulatory Surgical Center.       Orthopedic Surgery

      Trauma Surgery & Critical Care

      We define trauma as a life-threatening occurrence, accidental or intentional, that causes injuries. The leading causes of trauma are motor vehicle crashes, falls and assaults. Our skilled surgeons have outstanding training and expertise in caring for patients who’ve suffered trauma. And our team is staffed with a trauma medical director with certification in surgery and critical care, two additional trauma and critical care surgeons, a trauma program manager, a trauma performance improvement coordinator, a trauma registrar, an administrative coordinator, and a research assistant.

      Urogynecology & Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery

      The Stamford Health urogynecology surgery team is committed to helping women with disorders that may affect the bladder, the vagina or the rectum. They specialize in minimally invasive surgery for both pelvic floor and benign gynecologic conditions. In addition, our team offers pelvic floor physical therapy and a state of the art diagnostic laboratory for the complete evaluation of complex pelvic floor problems.
