U.S. News & World Report Ranks Stamford Hospital Among Top Hospitals in Region

U.S. News & World Report recognized Stamford Hospital as a Best Regional Hospital for 2017/2018. The Hospital is honored as one of the top five placed hospitals in Connecticut out of 43 organizations assessed by U.S. News & World Report. Stamford Hospital received high performance rankings in the treatment of heart failure, colon cancer surgery and urology.

The U.S. News & World Report annual hospital rankings are among the most visible, and represent one important set of factors for patients choosing a hospital for their care.

Other recent recognitions of Stamford Hospital’s quality and safety efforts include:

  • Achieving Magnet designation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Magnet Recognition Program®, the highest recognition possible for nurses;
  • Earning the Planetree Distinction Award for Leadership and Innovation in Patient-Centered Care, placing Stamford Hospital among only eight of 365 Planetree facilities in the world to be recognized with the honor. This award acknowledges ongoing efforts to advance patient-centered care through participation in research, publication, outreach and innovation; and
  • Maintaining The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for accreditation by demonstrating compliance with The Joint Commission’s national standards for healthcare quality and safety in hospitals.
