Stamford Hospital Receives Women’s Choice Awards

Stamford Hospital received the Women’s Choice Award as an America’s Best Hospital for Patient Experience in Obstetrics, as well as an America’s Best Breast Center. The Women’s Choice Awards are the only award to identify the country’s best healthcare institutions based on criteria that considers female patient satisfaction and trusted referrals from other women. By carrying the Women’s Choice Award seal, Stamford Hospital has signified its commitment to elevating the patient experience for women and all patients.

“On behalf of all the physicians, nurses and staff at Stamford Hospital, we are proud to receive the Women’s Choice Award as it reflects our ongoing commitment to providing high-quality clinical care in a compassionate and patient-centered environment,” said Kathy Silard, RN, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Stamford Hospital. “It’s important to understand the scheduling and care needs of our female patients, whether it is at our Women’s Breast Center that offers unique, 3D Tomography for all screening mammograms to provide more accurate detection of cancers and same-day results, or our obstetrics and neonatal centers for the necessary support and services to women from before conception through regular and high-risk births and the months following delivery.”

Stamford Hospital earned the America’s Best Breast Center award by meeting the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) standards from the American College of Surgeons. The NAPBC is a consortium of national, professional organizations focused on breast health and dedicated to the improvement of quality care and outcomes of patients. As one of America’s Best Breast Centers, Stamford Hospital also carries the Seal of the American College of Radiologists as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, and scored above-average on the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services patient satisfaction measures.

“Stamford Hospital’s selection by WomenCertified as one of the Best Hospitals for Patient Experience in Obstetrics and an America’s Best Breast Center differentiates it from other choices in the area,” explained Delia Passi, CEO and Founder of WomenCertified, and former publisher of Working Woman and Working Mother magazines. “Women have many choices when it comes to maternity care and breast centers and they set the standard for customer service. As a Women’s Choice Award recipient, Stamford Hospital has demonstrated extraordinary service in meeting the needs of women and their families, and represents the smart choice for women.”

As the collective voice of female consumers, the Women’s Choice Award provides women with recommendations from other women that they can rely upon.
