HIMSS Analytics Honors Stamford Hospital With Stage 7 Award
HIMSS Analytics has recognized Stamford Hospital in with its Stage 7 Award. The award represents attainment of the highest level on the Electronic Medical Records Adoption Model SM (EMRAM), which is used to track EMR progress at hospitals and health systems.
HIMSS Analytics developed the EMR Adoption Model in 2005 as a methodology for evaluating the progress and impact of electronic medical record systems for hospitals in the HIMSS Analytics™ Database. There are eight stages (0-7) that measure a hospital’s implementation and utilization of information technology applications. The final stage, Stage 7, represents an advanced patient record environment.
“We are extremely pleased to have attained HIMSS Stage 7,” said David Taylor, Vice President, Information Services and Chief Information Officer, Stamford Hospital. “This recognition reflects years of work across the entire organization and is a direct result of our patient-centered culture and focused teamwork.”
“Stamford Hospital has an excellent deployment of their EHR, with full engagement of the medical staff and enterprise,” said John P. Hoyt, FACHE, FHIMSS, executive vice president HIMSS Analytics. “The staff are enthusiastic users who have fully endorsed a nearly paperless care documentation process. Chart reviews on several units revealed a full deployment of paperless capabilities and adoption of rules and alerts to drive best practice.”
Stamford Hospital will be recognized at the 2015 Annual HIMSS Conference & Exhibition on April 12-16, 2015, in Chicago, Ill.
