Broadway Comes To Stamford Hospital's Dream Ball Gala
Broadway stars are headed to the stage for the ninth annual Stamford Hospital Dream Ball. Past and present leading stars of the Broadway musicals Jersey Boys, Hairspray, Motown: The Musical and Beautiful, the new Carole King show, will take the stage together on Saturday, November 2, for a show you will not want to miss.
Guests will be transported to Broadway as the Doo Wop Project sing and dance their way into the audience’s heads and hearts with Doo Wop-inspired renditions of hits from Michael Jackson to Jason Mraz and plenty of Broadway show tunes in-between. Conceived backstage at The August Wilson Theater in Manhattan, home of the Jersey Boys, the Doo Wop Project creates a multigenerational jukebox musical experience. These lead voices mix the old and new to bring audience members that authentic Doo Wop sound, while sharing their personal stories and show business experiences.
These five stars, each with his own unique vocal sound, have been or are currently cast members of Broadway's Tony Award-winning musical Jersey Boys, and have a number of other Broadway hits under their belts including leading roles in Hairspray, Les Miserables, Sister Act and Motown: The Musical. This is one of the rare times that this many major stars of current or recent Broadway musicals will perform together on stage. The group offers unparalleled authenticity of sound and vocal excellence to recreate some of the greatest music in American pop and rock history.
The Dream Ball will feature dinner, dancing a silent auction and a Giving Tree, with the proceeds supporting the vital programs and services that benefit the Hospital’s patients and their families. Last year, the gala raised more than $700,000 and was attended by over 700 guests from Stamford, Greenwich, Darien and New Canaan.
The Dream Ball will take place at Stamford Hospital’s Tully Health Center, 32 Strawberry Hill Court, Stamford on Saturday, November 2. Cocktails will be served at 6 p.m., and dinner and dancing will follow at 7 p.m.
